Opening the Tablet

Use the Zone Management Tablet from your inventory

💡 Access Requirements: You must be in an authorized job (police, ems, fire, etc.)

Creating a Zone

Step-by-Step:

  1. Set Radius (10-500m)

    • Determines the size of the restricted area

    • Consider the incident size and safety requirements

  2. Set Duration (1-60 minutes)

    • How long the zone stays active

    • Zones automatically expire after this time

  3. Choose Escalation Level:

    • 🟢 ROUTINE: Standard operations, low priority

    • 🟡 ELEVATED: Heightened awareness required

    • 🟠 HIGH: Active incident, keep distance

    • 🔴 CRITICAL: Emergency situation, immediate danger

  4. Add Reason

    • Describe why the zone is needed

    • Visible to all emergency services

  5. Click "Create Zone"

Quick Reason Presets

Click preset buttons for common scenarios:

  • Traffic Accident - Vehicle collision response

  • Police Operation - Law enforcement activity

  • Investigation - Active crime scene investigation

  • Crime Scene - Evidence preservation area

  • Search Operation - Missing person/evidence search

  • Security Measure - Preventive security zone

Pro Tip: Use descriptive reasons like "Armed robbery - suspect search" instead of just "Police operation"

Managing Active Zones

Zone Information Display

Each zone shows:

  • Creator: Officer who created the zone

  • Radius: Zone size in meters

  • Level: Current escalation level with color coding

  • Time Left: Remaining active duration

  • Reason: Description of why zone exists

Available Actions

🗑️ Delete Zone

  • Removes the zone immediately

  • Available to creator and authorized colleagues (within time limit) or admins

  • Requires confirmation

✏️ Edit Zone

  • Modify radius, duration, or reason

  • Only available for 15 minutes after creation

  • Cannot change escalation level after creation

📍 Locate Zone

  • Sets GPS waypoint to zone center

  • Temporarily highlights the zone blip

  • Useful for navigation to incident area

⚠️ Edit Time Limit: You can only edit your zones for 15 minutes after creation. Plan carefully!

Statistics Dashboard

Your Statistics

  • Active Zones: Zones you currently have active

  • My Zones: Total zones you've created today

  • Department Total: All active zones from your department

  • System Wide: Total active zones on server

Activity Monitoring

Track zone usage patterns:

  • Peak activity times

  • Most common escalation levels

  • Average zone duration

  • Department collaboration

Deletion Log

View recently removed zones:

  • Who deleted: Officer name and department

  • When deleted: Timestamp of removal

  • Original details: Zone size, duration, reason

  • Zone location: Coordinates where zone was placed

Useful for:

  • Tracking incident resolution

  • Reviewing team activity

  • Learning from past incidents

Zone Visibility

What You Can See:

Based on your job configuration:

  • Your zones: Always visible

  • Department zones: Usually visible to same department

  • Other departments: Depends on server configuration

Best Practices

Zone Sizing:

  • Small incidents (10-50m): Traffic stops, minor accidents

  • Medium incidents (50-150m): Crime scenes, investigations

  • Large incidents (150-500m): Major accidents, active threats

Duration Guidelines:

  • Quick operations (5-15 min): Traffic stops, welfare checks

  • Standard incidents (15-45 min): Accident scenes, investigations

  • Extended operations (45-60 min): Major crime scenes, searches

Escalation Levels:

  • Routine: Administrative, non-urgent

  • Elevated: Active but controlled situation

  • High: Immediate attention required

  • Critical: Life-threatening emergency

🚨 Important: Don't abuse CRITICAL level - it should only be used for genuine emergencies

Troubleshooting

Can't Create Zone:

  1. Check if you've reached your zone limit

  2. Verify you're in an authorized job

  3. Ensure radius/duration are within limits

Can't Edit Zone:

  1. Check if 15-minute edit window has passed

  2. Verify you're the creator or have department permissions

  3. Try refreshing the tablet interface

Zone Not Visible:

  1. Check cross-department visibility settings

  2. Verify the zone hasn't expired

  3. Ask admin to check system status
